| CURVED STADIUM RISERS USED ON CONSTITUTION VISITORS CENTER |  |  | | Over the last twenty years, we at Spillman Company have been involved in a wide range of stadium and arena projects. Our work has included the RCA Dome in Indianapolis, the MCI Arena near Washington, D.C., the remodeling of both the Horseshoe at Ohio State and the additions to Notre Dame Stadium. During the last few months, we were involved in building a series of curved side rails and bulkheads for the Constitution Visitors Center in Philadelphia that will be housing key parts of America's history from 1776. Curt Porr, Scott Sambuco, and Tom Coniglio worked closely with Bethlehem Precast in Bethlehem, PA to develop a series of curved stadium side rails and bulkheads that would meet the various requirements of the project. Even though the formwork on this project was not as extensive as that required on many other projects, the degree of difficulty was significant because of the curved elements. Our sales and engineering team developed a series of side rails, back forms, top ties, and bulkheads that achieved the required casting dimensions and details. | ALL PLASTIC SLAB BOLSTER UPPER NOW AVAILABLE |  | The ultimate in rebar support is now available in an all plastic slab bolster upper. This product has been developed to meet a wide variety of precast reinforcement requirements where two or more layers of bars or welded wire fabric are required. The StrongBack SBU consists of a continuous support system that can be connected to accommodate any length of rebar or mat. It is the first non-metallic SBU that has been designed and manufactured in a unique high strength I-beam design. A dual locking feature has been molded into the product allowing for maximum connectivity. The StrongBack SBU is now available from Spillman in ten different sizes ranging from 1" to 3¼" cover. The new product has been developed to complement our existing plastic EZ Bolster. | SPILLMAN PARTICIPATES IN MCX 2002 PRODUCT DEMO |  | | During the recent MCX 2002 Exposition in Indianapolis, Indiana, Curt Porr and Ted Coons participated in a demonstration of the flexibility of magnets and magnetic side rails when used with a steel casting table. As part of the demonstration, an 8" steel side rail incorporated with a 1-ton button magnet was used on one side, and an 8" magnet shutter rail on the other. Standard bar magnets were used in conjunction with transversable magnet adapters to locate steel channel on one end and a wooden bulkhead on the other. Shutter rails, fabricated magnet rails, button side rails, and transversable magnet adapters are all part of the complete EZY-STRYP® magnetic clamping product line. | SPILLMAN EZY-STRYP® BUTTON MAGNET RAILS GREAT WITH SCC |  | As part of the ongoing development of the EZY-STRYP® magnetic clamping system, Spillman Company, in cooperation with Weckenmann of Germany, has developed a system of side rails with integral button magnets for use on both untopped and pretopped double tees. With the increasing use of self-consolidating concrete in the prestressed concrete industry, these magnet side rails can now be used without the need for screeding. Spillman has an excellent inventory of 10' long rails in-stock for immediate delivery.
